Alternative Method 1: If you want a more straightforward experience (only open your games and already set in 3D) you can use 3D Game Market (paid subscription). You can use any 3D display or anaglyph glasses.
Method 2: if you have a nvidia 3d vision monitor (and nvidia graphic card), you only have to install 3D Fix Manager and follow instructions to install old nvidia drivers (if you want you can create a separate Windows installation on another partition, but 95% games works better with old 425/452 drivers than with newer drivers). Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to use ReShade with SuperDepth 3D for playing games in 3D, for both 3D displays and VR headsets:
Step 1: Download Required Software
- ReShade: Download from https://reshade.me/. Download ReShade with full add-on support. Put it on the folder you want to execute the program, you can make a shortcut on the taskbar, start menu, or desktop, to be more accessible.

(You can manually download SuperDepth 3D/VR shaders from the ReShade forums or GitHub. However, when installing ReShade, you might not need to download them separately if they are included in the installation options)
- Virtual Desktop: This is only necessary for using a VR headset instead a 3D display. You have to purchase it from Steam. For its price, it’s so good that is almost mandatory for VR owners because added to play games in 3D in your VR headset, it offers much more quality to play PCVR games than Meta/Pico own connection solution, it also allows to watch 3D movies and 3D photos from your computer in your VR headset. So it’s not only useful for playing regular games in 3D, it also improve your VR games and allow to watch 3D content; 3 solutions in one single program…
Step 2: Install ReShade and Shaders
- Install ReShade: Run
ReShade_Setup_addon.exe
, select your game on the list or point it to your game’s executable (e.g.,game.exe
), and select the appropriate rendering API (DX or OpenGL)(sometimes it’s autodetected, if you’re not sure, you can find the data for any game in PCGamingWiki.

- Enable SuperDepth3D or VR on the plugin list: It is recommended to unable all other plugins to avoid conflicts. Then it will appear another window on which you can add mods (i.e.: for using Acer SpatialLabs monitors 3D mode), but usually you don’t need to enable anything more.

Step 2b (only for VR headset): Configure Virtual Desktop
- Launch Virtual Desktop: Start Virtual Desktop and set it up to view your desktop in VR.
- Set Resolution: Adjust your desktop resolution to something manageable for VR, like 2560×1600 or lower, to help with FPS.
- Assign Hotkeys: Set hotkeys in Virtual Desktop to easily toggle Side-by-Side (SBS) mode.
Step 3: Enable ReShade and SuperDepth in-game
- Launch Game: Start your game.
- Open ReShade GUI: Press the Home key of your keyboard (by default) to open the ReShade menu.

- Select SuperDepth Shader: Choose SuperDepth3D or SuperDepthVR from the shader list. Your game will appear in Half-SBS, enable 3D mode in your display. If you’re using Virtual Desktop use the hotkey to toggle SBS mode.
- Adjust Settings: Experiment with settings like ZPD, separation (usually all games require these 2 settings at maximum), and convergence (how much objects appear inside or outside the game, you have to test this setting carefully to enjoy the game in a comfortable way). Other games require depth map selection to the 3D effect work for your game. Note that when in SBS mode, these settings will appear only for 1 eye. If your 3D display use glasses, it is recommended to change settings without the glasses, then press the Home key to hide GUI and check results with the glasses.
Additional Tips
- Game Compatibility: Not all games work perfectly with SuperDepth due to differences in depth maps. You may need to adjust settings or use specific configurations for certain games.

- Distortion: Lowering the depth effect can sometimes improve performance and reduce distortion. Every game works different and have to use different settings.
- Performance mode: When you’re happy with the results, enable the lower right Performance mode. Now you can hide the GUI pressing Home again, and start enjoying your game in 3D.
