3D: Right from the beginning, we encounter impressive depth in dynamic scenes, mixed with milder depth in quiet scenes. This constant change is very subtle and is not annoying, but makes to enjoy more the scenes on which the 3D is stronger. Combined with the beautiful scenery of the movie makes this a wonderful experience. But the dancing scenes, are in the part of quiet mild depth scenes, the director of Step Up 3D this time is giving prominence to action scenes instead of elaborate dance moves (which are not as important in this movie). A few scares through the eyes of the spectator improves the experience. At the end of the movie, some scenes strangely resemble some memorable scenes from Matrix Reloaded, and we would start wishing again to have the Matrix saga in breathtaking strong 3D. Overall, it is highly recommended to watch in 3D.
4DX: There are a lot of movement and wind, and very occasional water and heat effects. But except, for some moments of wind and back impacts, it is like to be designed to be subtle. It improves the experience, but is not necessary to enjoy the movie, the 3D imagery is more essential.
